Getting Discouraged, Please Help.

I am so discouraged at this point. I am just completely lost. Here is the situation.
I have an automatic d16y8. And I am looking to turbocharge it. I have gathered almost all the parts, but then I ran into a problem. Since I have an automatic car, I have an automatic ecu. And since I want to go with uberdata, I need to chip an obd1 ecu. So I bought an automatic p28. Then I learned that a regular obd2b to obd1 harness will not work, and that the only place I could get one was from rywire.com as they are the only ones that make it. Is this true?

And to further crap on the situation, I read that I will also need to swap my entire intake manifold because I need to convert something from 3 wires to 2. Apparently the auto one is no good to mod for some reason, so I need the manual intake manifold. That way I can do the 3 to 2 wire conversion, whatever the hell that is.

Damn I'm so confused. How hard is it to swap intake manifolds? Is this step even necessary? Or does the harness from rywire not require me to swap manifolds?

Someone aid me out, because I'm bordering on abandonment. :(
Thanks.

if you have a d16y8, you won't have to switch mani's. don't know what to tell ya about the auto though. sell it, and get somethin else

Auto Y8's have 3 wire IAC valves and its mounted on the throttle body. The manifold has blanks.

Ok so if the my y8 is a 3 wire, why do i need to convert it to 2 wire? Or do I not need to? And If I do have to, do I switch the entire intake manifold for a manual y8 intake manifold which is 2 wire, or can i just switch the tb since the iacv is on my tb anyways?

just buy a used vafc for $100 and there's no need to switch intake manifolds or buying another ecu.

But vafc isn't as reliable as uber or crome is it? I am going to be running 10psi so I need a good tune.

your not gonna have to worry about reliability because after that auto tranny see's a few hard shifts under boost, its gonna explode, then your car wont move anyway... :S

definatly use uber . vafc's suck.

but like busted_16 said ur gana have to go with a 5 speed swap.

so its up to you

1- standerd swap befor boost, only tune once, and u can also aviod all these
problems ur having with boostin ur auto (kinda)

2- wait till the auto blows while collecting the 5 speed parts
then do the swap and tune again

im doing the second one. but my auto engines a lot easyer to boost
