Default Getting boost but its cutting out

Ok I have an fmu 8:1, its boosting but around 5k+ rpms it cuts out and spits and sputters, I can barely go 1/4 throttle and still hardly nothing. I gapped my spark plugs to .27 I checked my plugs while they were out and they are black so its runnin a lil rich. But that shouldnt cause it to cut out right? Its a b16a3 with a T3 to4e @8psi. Any info will help.

I'd check first and see if there are any unplugged vacuum lines around the bay. I remember mine doing that because I had three vacuum lines unplugged and the bitch ran pig rich like crazy. I have an FMU also. It's a 12:1.

Definitely hook up some check valves or a missing link. I used two tetra check valves on my setup and are pushing around 7lbs with a 12:1 FMU. Also, check to make sure there are no boost leaks in your charge pipes, but definitely get setup with check valves/missing link first to be sure.

I just dont understand that it will spit and sputter after 5000rpms and I have to let most of the way off and barely push the pedal down and when I try to floor it the car just acts like if I hold it down long enough it would die. I will try the check valves and see how that works out. any other solutions?

Sounds like your ECU went into Limp mode. Happened to me once, The boost was turned up a little too much when I was in the higher RPM range about 5k, and I threw a CEL, and it ran like complete ***, almost as if It were ready to die. Giving it gas didn't help at all btw. Pulled over, turned off, started back up and was on my way. You definitely need the check valves!

Are you popping a CEL?

Yea :P . No Im using an 8:1fmu with both of my o2's out. Its runnin a lil rich with 8psi. Im gonna get my ecu all done for datalogging and tunning here after awhile. I just wanna make sure things are gonna go right before I spend more money on this setup.

And Skaterdudz02 I know what your talkin about cause my car will do that as soon as I get to 8psi everyonce in awhile and the car goes into limp mode and I just kill the car and start it back up and its fine until I hit 8psi again lol. Im gonna try some check valves and go from there. thanks for all the help so far.

No problem. I remember myself testing my Accord with my O2 unplugged and boy it ran like garbage. You could be losing performance that way. Your best bet would be to plug them back up and tune it a little the old fashioned way, until you get a chipped ECU or something.

What are your plugs looking like? Gapped at?
