Default Gauges Needed For Boost Setup

What gauges are needed for my d16a6 hmt kit? Do I need a egt gauge, oil pressure gauge,a/f standardband gauge? Or can I just get an oil pressure gauge and boost gauge? And ---- the rest. I just dont know if I will need a turbo timer? a wideband gauge? since the ecu is going to be chipped by ------------- with a basemap. Im just stating what ive read so far. This is just a ghetto turbo kit set for 8psi with a t25 turbo, hf manifold, dsm 450cc injects on a d16a6 si. Its basically my beater car. no future mods except this///

Chipped for sure, but you should go beyond a basemap and get it dyno-tuned. It will be worth it. As far as gauges, you don't need egt or a/f unless you are tuning and know what those readings will mean. A narrow band a/f gauge is damn near useless, so don't even bother. Boost and oil pressure are all you will probably need. If I were you, I'd try to find a local tuner to chip and tune your car. Xeno is good, but any decent tuner, on a dyno, can give you a better tune over a basemap.

yeah basemaps are only for getting to the tuner. some people drive on base maps but alot of the times they end up blowing the motor. if i were you i would just get a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge. then get it tuned

Or, you can NOT read posts in a thread, and end up wasting money. It's whatever.

Same as nothing. The gauge will just flicker around and will not give you a reading that will do anything for you. A WB o2 sensor could be hooked up to a gauge to give you a reading that you could use to tune, but NB gauges are just to say you have a gauge. Save your money and buy a double decker rear wing. More ricey and everyone will see it. Don't forget the extra vtec stickers/emblems. A hood scoop would be cool too.

Junior, Atreidies is right, listen to him, you obviously have no clue on what you are doing. Gauge suggestions would be narrow band a/f to regulate the minimal afr changes, and a wide band to regulate the larger more important changes, your gunna need a trans temp gauge for when your ricing it up in the street, egt so you can tell when not to touch your exhaust, a tach that goes to 10k so you can actually read your rpms when your street racing!!!! Than possibly oil pressure and temp, water temp, boost, vac, fuel pressure (make sure this one is manual and mounted in your dash). Thats all I can think of right now, but your going to need an extra large spoiler to put some down force when you enter those vicious turns while going to the grocery store, a few vinyl decals for style, hood scoop for engine cooling, and the key to your power will be NOSSSSSS. Seriously, its called the search button for a reason.
