Re: Full Throttle Shifting

For no-lift to shift you need some sort of switch, it doesn't really matter what kind that sends voltage when the clutch is depressed then program your ems to retard timing alot when at WOT and the cltuch is depressed.

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

I would gues you should look for a Normally open push button switch, so when you push the clutch and trip the switch it closes. you should be able to get them at radio shack for under a buck.

just shift faster

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

I love the NLTS feature that I have programmed into my Evo's ecu...I can set my target rpm drop to whatever I want without having to retard any timing in the process, or I could even have it advance a bit if I want. ;) Just make sure you can shift fast and your tranny's like butter...a couple missed shifts and you'll be wishing you shifted the normal way. :P

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

shifting faster is not the problem, i just dont want to fall out of boost while shifting, plus the cool ass noise that the timing retard does. something like this.

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

How much boost are you losing when you shift ?

On my 2-3 shift ( Not even at full boost yet on street tires from a 2nd gear roll) I only lost 1 psi according to the log. On the 3-4 shift theres no loss at all.

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

not sure, new setup is in the works.

i didnt have a problem with my old setup do to a relatively small turbo, but with the new WAY bigger turbo i think ill see some falling out of boost issues. having not to rev really high just to stay in full boost in the next gear is a plus as well.

not saying that its a must but i dont see it hurting anything.

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

unplug the wires from the back of you clutch petal.
run a switch between them.
turn it on to start your car turn off after.

your revs will drop slower between gear in a dd setting. O0

no ---- ? thanks dude.

whats the reason for the slower rpm drop ?

ill try this once i get rolling again. :)

also, does it matter where the wires on the switch go ? as in source/power ?

========plug /cut/ first wire--------12v switch--------second wire
DONE!
2 wires that go to the plug behind the clutch.
cut them and then put a switch in between them.
nothing more nothing less.

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

sorry if i seem kind of slow, but this has nothing to do with the ECU, correct ?

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

Your ecu retards timing when the clutch switch is on.
replace the clutch switch with a on off switch and no more retard at wot.
leave the switch off unless your trying to start you car.

I cant explain it any better. :-\

Um.. why dont you just shift with your foot on the ------- floor and kick the clutch and go to the next gear.. thats full throttle shifting...

Thats what I was thinking. From the time I leave the light I dont lift my right foot off the floorboard untill I get to the other light!!!!!

Re: Full Throttle Shifting

you don't need no special switch. all you need is a regular momenatry switch.
I used my cruise control switch, the one that is connected to the clutch pedal, in the s300 you can invert the input to switch from normally open to normally closed.

and that would work on a stock p28 eh. I may have to do this.
