Fuel ratio
I have a 93 DX w/ 150,000 mile on it... The engine is still strong and has been well maintained.... i have a Td05 turbo w/ a intercooler... I am going to get a Vortech FMU for fuel management, but i need to know what ratio i should get for the FMU 8:1 / 10:1 / 12:1... i'm lost on this one

Re:Fuel ratio
That' $110 one on OverBoost.com?
I was going to get that, but then my buddy updated his Jackson Racing Supercharged EF9 to Hondata, and didn't need his FMU, so I got that free. ;-D It doens't use the discs, it's adjustable. Maybe search eBay or something for an adjustable one then you won't have to worry about "discs". |
Re:Fuel ratio
tough to say, if you are going to keep boost low... 5-6psi stay with either the 8 or 10.. alot of people like the 12:1 fmu's

Re:Fuel ratio
buy the 12:1 ratio just to be more on the safe side

Re:Fuel ratio
How much boost(safely) can you run with the 12:1 fmu and a aftermarket fuel pump for fuel management.

Re:Fuel ratio
every setup is different, so I can not tell you exactly, its more a try it out and find out. Get a air fuel gauge and make sure your not running lean.

Re:Fuel ratio
for a 92 DX what would be concidered too Lean at 7-8 psi?
|
Re:Fuel ratio
What would be considered lean? well if your EGT temps are over 1200, and your air fuel gauge is pegged in the red, that is what I would consider lean. Not to mention you will probably hear it pinging..
For 8psi, I wouldnt even dick around with an FMU. JEff |
