fuel flooding the engine.....FIXED!!!!

well just yesterday i am having a problem starting my car, and when it starts it redlines at 4k.

i have no idea what to do nex, today at paperchase house i checked spark and changed ignitor, and he gave me new sparkplugs (gapped them .30). and it still runs crappy.

so i went home...then it shuts off right infront of my house. I smell gas and it would not start, when i disconnect the injectors, and try to start it, it starts for a second or two then shuts off, then i connect the injectors, and it then it starts, BUT it runs like shyt, and stills redlines at 4k.

help.................. :'( (i want to take it to the track on the weekend)

The only thing that I can come up with is that you should switch back to the stock ECU/chip...if you already haven't done it..other than that, I don't think I can help ya much.

what ecu do you have, a p05? what's wrong with your uberdata .bin, why are you running the hack?

chingro 08-10-2004 09:33 PM

Re:fuel flooding the engine.....help!!!!

long story...the first and only bin to run right, i gave to another guy who i was introducin to uberdata.

well ever since i ran hack till i got another chip, and it did not work, then i got another and that did nto work....then nowmy ECU itself will not work unless i go back to stock bin.

i dont know what to do now.... :-[

ok,.....I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO THINK NOW.

i chipped ANOTHER DX ECU (could not find a P28)
and i am having the SAME problem. now i am thinking it is the chip, and not the ECU. (i used the same chip, and...........)

Re:fuel flooding the engine.....help!!!!

flooding motor is one thing.. high idle is another. A flooded motor will smoke and sometimes drip unused fuel out of the tail pipe.. it takes air+fuel to make the revs that high.. so somehow it's letting in a whole bunch of air along with way too much fuel.

anyone follow where I'm going with this one?

you're thinking vacuum leak.

are you getting any check engine lights? does your check engine light even work?

Re:fuel flooding the engine.....help!!!!

it's FIXED....and i am back on the uberdata ;D

it was the connections i did, i used a magnifying glass and inspected everything and found a few errors, and fixed them.

and the car runs fine....then i put in the uberdata chip and set VAFC to 0% across the board, and set base timing at +16 degrees (stock).

well i need to tune this further, this chip is just a basemap, and with the hack i had more power.
One thing i like about uberdata is i cant feel the transition into boost, smooth all the way.

Re:fuel flooding the engine.....FIXED!!!!

two pins on the main chip were not soldered properly.

but it was working properly before right, so they just weren't solid connections and they came loose?

Re:fuel flooding the engine.....FIXED!!!!

maybe.......

when i first chipped it, it worked with a NA chip BUT not uberdata, then one day it just stopped working with ANY chip (only run when stock).

now it's on uberdata
