was the clutch slipping or something?i have it and it works fine for me but im only at 5 psi right now,did u break in the clutch?and resurface the flywheel?i hope that ---- doesnt happen to me

I do, and I know John does too run the 6-puck sprung from XTD Clutch. It was like $205 shipped so I can't complain. Doesn't slip and just grips. Rated to 273ftl and I KNOW I'm not even close to that. Heck, he uses it in his drag car and doesn't have anything bad to say about it either.

i bought a brand new flywheel, and broke the clutch in beyond the recommended point (500 mi). like i said, before i got the boost controller, it held 5psi just fine. But when we tuned it on 12, it was slipping in between shifts. then i raced in philly, and it wont hold more than 5psi now. Its a pos. Im using an act because my buddy wore one out and bought a whole new clutch kit instead of just a disk. So im getting a $100 disk and throwing him a few bucks for the pressure plate, cant beat that. If i wasnt, you better believe i would of bought one from you (lsd motorsports) Im all for supporting the people who support HMT!!!

just get the disc from lsd. i ran that with a stock pressure plate at 15 lbs on a z6. no slippage. and i sold it to drboost which is who knows where. but he said he gripped when i sold it to him. i bought the clutch when i was 16 i am now 21 :o but then again it was in my crx then my noob brother blew a whole in my tranny. and i had to use a 88 tranny. but enough about that. its a really good clutch. im not trying to sell you anything. no way affiliated with mike at lsd. just trying to save you money http://www.thejdm.com/forums/images/...n_thumbsup.gif

but all i have now is a clutchmasters pressure plate. i ordered the disk too.. just didnt pay for it yet. probably just gonna do the whole thing right (the second time). ACT xtreme pressure plate and disk is rated to 275 ft. lbs. Should be enough for the built motor next spring. 20lbs coming soon!!!

i've been running my clutchmaster stage 3 and clutchmaster 12 lb. flywheel in my b16 crx for over a year, and the last 4 months boosted and believe me that clutch has been through hell and back, still grips perfect, smoke the tires in 3rd gear......

sohcpwr, your mixing and matching parts and have no idea on the step your flywheel has or what the pressure plate/disc requires??????

i guess im not a d series tranny guru... yeah im "mixing and matching parts" an act extreme street strip disk that goes with the act extreme pressure plate.. the part number for the pressure plate and disk is the same for all single cam civics up to 96 or something. I guess i suck at life :-[

Have you ever looked at Clutchmaster's site to see what "stage 2" actually means?

I had a stage one and was bummed when it burnt up, till I saw that it's good for an intake & maybe an exhaust?

Boost? Not even close.

LOL... Clutch Specialties sprung 6 puck and all is good. ;)
