Default Front mount Intercooler question

Im looking at potential intercoolers but cant seem to find any that would work on my setup. I need one that has both inlet and outlet on the same side. It also has to be less than 3 inches deep. and around 4 inches tall. Length isnt a big issue.

Can any intercooler be modified by cutting the outlet/inlet off one side and then welding the hole up , and then welding a new one on the other side?
Any information is appreciated.

You cant weld up one side and put both inlet and outlet in one tank if thats what you are asking. It would not flow through the core
