$279 gets you everything you need, minus a display. this is probably the route i'll be going, as i won't have to buy an extra cable to datalog stuff like MAP, rpm, tps, etc. like you do with the LM-1.
dang, i wish i would have known about this product earlier before i ordered the plx m-300. for the price of the plx m300 i could have been datalogging everything on my shitty laptop. I like my m300. Maybe i'll try selling it and going with this product

is it possible to buy a wideband o2 sensor, then just hook up and autometer or some other kind of guage to it? would it be more/less acurate than using your stock narrow band?

Just read a thread on the megasquirt forum on the LM1, apparently the heating circuit for the sensor is a bit flakey, and the sensor will overheat if it's mounted too close to the turbine housing/mani, so if you do get one make sure you mount it as far away as possible, but before the cat.
