ya my town is gettin their asses kicked by some boosted fuel economy. two kids in town have tried to turboed their hondas and have given up when problems arise. they get tired of it and quit. ya i do need a basemap really badly.

lol I have to reply to this cause this guy has made my day.

He must have must have been boosting for 30+ seconds to get that thing to max speed. At that point the air coming out of that little ass turbo must have been 300+ degrees. The only thing saving that poor little d from probably the most awesome rod through side of the block failure is that massive intercooler which helped keep intake change temps down to slightly above sane levels..

Remember that little turbo is only going to be so efficient to a point and you are probably way past that point with the boot levels you are running. The amount of detonation that motor must have experienced is surreal . Freak motor indeed.

Keep us updated, I love what your doing. I wish I lived closer to you so when that thing does take a ---- I could come help you swap in a fresh d just so you could do it all over again for my entertainment. Maybe this time get the base map so the car will last longer then the length of time this thread has been going on.

1 bar or ~ 15 psi is ok on a 14b. Any more is pushing it, but like he said he turned it down to 8 so it's all good.

Re: first turbo project

ya i have no prob finding another d-series motor for cheap as hell. all these fuckers arounbd like their b-series. idk why because i have beat every b-series i've raced.

i kinda have a frankenstien motor, i have a Z6 block with an A6 head. if the mini-me raises compression mine has to be lower. so maybe that little bit lower compression is savin my ass. i can't wait to get a new motor in so i can turn the boost back up to 15. its ------ slow ass ---- now on 6 pounds. and i think i lost compression in a cylinder. but i still dont burn oil or anything. i blew another head gasket so i burn some coolant up and overheat sometimes

and can someone burn me a basemap for cheap.... i'll let everyone know now, that i know nuthin about basemaps and ----. i'll start readin

Where did you get that couple going from the DSM pipe to the throttle body? I need one like that and can't seem to find anything.

i went to my local ACE hardware store and in the plumbing aisle they have black couplings for pcv piping and ----. they like 5 bucks and its held up great. i wouldn't use it on the hotside of the piping though, they have melted on me

Re: first turbo project

Any idea what size it was? cause I know the DSM pipe is 1 3/4" and the throttle body is about 2.5" I checked several stores near me and nothing seems like it would fit good. I want to hook my DSM BOV and pipe up like that to the throttle body. Best spot for a BOV.
