heres some pics:

Attachment 31469
12" intercooler that was a bitch to put in and i had to cut a bunch of ---- to fit it in there, but it was worth it. Dont worry i made brackets later and put it in there alot better

Attachment 31470
The dsm duck call..sounds funny. but didnt stay on there for long, just blows off.

Attachment 31471

Attachment 31472
The hf manny was free and i made the adapter plate, but the turbo was 100$, no shaft play. i had to dent the crossmember a little to fit the wastgate but its all good.

Attachment 31473
Final setup with it all connected and running.

Attachment 31474
O and i had to show my homemade rotas. the painted steelies with the chrome snapon ring.

Re: first turbo project

Man thats one phat/fat front mount, throw some black paint on the manifold and valve cover. Over all your ---- looks good

laports_best_crx 11-08-2006 02:57 PM

Re: first turbo project

The charge pipes hold good as hell no leaks or blown off piping, noone in my town understands that mommy and daddy wont buy you everything forever. they say its ugly i say ---- you. i got a new valve cover already, its the cleanest original finish valve cover ever. I have no times yet because with no job i cant afford my insurance and my momy wont let me drive it. it sucks, i already got caught drivin when she was gone. i need fuel management it does pretty good till about 5000. first gears rips the steelies the whole time and i did a second bear from ten and it broke loose some and then grabbed and put you it the seat. ill try to get a vid up sometime

I'm digging the charge piping with the hose and all. I wanna do that for my D15z1 with my IHI small turbo! How does it hold? I was gonna boost mine 7~9 psi. let me know.

laports_best_crx 11-13-2006 03:48 PM

Re: first turbo project

i boost 9 pounds. the piping is approved for 100 psi of water. i have the intercooler mounted with mounts i made. its just siiting there in that pic. i ran the piping behind the resivoir and up through the whole by the resovoir fill spout. the piping fits perfectly. i had to move the radiator overflow up and zip tie it. but no biggy. i traded a vtec head i had laying around for the intercooler. the turbo was 100$ and it came with a dsm side mount that was ugly and dint fit very well. the manny was free and i made the adapter plate to the turbo. the hose was $40 and i spent like $40 more on fittings and connectors. the oil line kit i bought from tunertoys was $90. so all in all about $300. i still need fuel management and i have a msd 6al ignition to put on and a blaster 2 coil.

laports_best_crx 11-13-2006 03:49 PM

Re: first turbo project

o and the piping will kink in sharp bends so use the hard plastic elbows from kabellins

crxdan 11-15-2006 09:10 PM

Re: first turbo project

450s run too rich because you need soemthign to control them.
I love the charge pipes! HAHAHA

Re: first turbo project

i know im mailing my ecu to get it chipped with some d16 vtec injectors so no worries

As I said, love those IC pipes made of hose.

dude you really need some bigger injectors. your VTEC once arnt gonna work. you also need to get it tuned, well at least get a base map.

but other then that, it looks good for your first time.

Re: first turbo project

OMG, that shits homemade at its finest...never seen the charge pipes youve done. If you throw some duck tape on there the duck will stay on 4evr.

laports_best_crx 11-16-2006 03:29 PM

Re: first turbo project

that duckcall fits perfectly in the blow-off valve and doesnt come off. its sweet. thnx

Hahaha...

That intercooler is a huge bitch.

I wonder how long that intercooler piping is going to last.

Re: first turbo project

Got front mount? yeah you do, now get some management. Looks great.

Re: first turbo project

the intercooler is a homemtown ----- but im the onlyone to put it to good use. My one friend bought it from ebay by typing in huge civic intercooler, it was for his ls eg hatch. he never used just put it on and thpught it was pretty and then went nitrous. then he sold it to our other freind who did the same ----, just mounted thought it was cute and then traded it to me for a shitty ass vtec head i had off of my block i have in my car now. confusing? all in all everyone in my town says their turboing their honda and then quit. pussies

I agree, very few people back up what they plan to do over there. They usually commit theirselves to nonpainted body kits.

laports_best_crx 11-23-2006 02:11 AM

Re: first turbo project

ya laporte is exactly like that. its all riced out little faggots that live for the fast and furious. they buy ebay body kits that dont fit and they ruin their hondas and imports. i hate it. we can race when i can drive, ni insurance.. sry

noboostedEGo 11-23-2006 04:39 PM

Re: first turbo project

So you're running 9psi with NO fuel management at all? If you still have the 450s, you could try running them with an fpr and just turn down the fuel pressure a lot.

Jeff did that in like turbo project number two. He ran dsm 380s with a b&m command-flo fpr at 20psi of fuel pressure. He said in like 8 months of running the motor never had a problem, then the car got stolen.

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_projects/t25-2/

I know it's easy enough to just get a basemap, but I am always fascinated when ---- like this actually works.

Good luck, and the piping is awesome.

Re: first turbo project

i hav no job right so i had to kinda save up to mail off my ecu and then i got a seatbelt ticket while skiping school.(ironic?) >:( . so now i need 25$ more to get it chipped so i have to wait.... i hate seatbelt laws.
