Re: First motor rebuild.. D16Y8.. pics inside
Thanks for the input JD.. always giving good advice. However, the white valves are on the intake side (the head is flipped around). This engine didn't smoke at all when I was running it. d112crazy pointed out that it looked like coolant was leaking into that cylinder, which makes sense because the engine did run like a piece and clunked per rotation (not the same issue), hence I bought it uber cheap to swap.
I will most likely replace the valves in that cylinder just to be safe. I have a full FJT rebuild kit I got for free. updates will ensue when I get home |

I was under the impression these were standard bore pistons when I bought them :7
http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...0007028c53.jpg oh well, at least I didn't start honing the stock bore before they got here |
Re: First motor rebuild.. D16Y8.. pics inside
lol better than having a bored block and getting standard pistons.. over bore's never hurt and it cost like 80 bucks yo

a tap bit and a rubber grommet I found laying around.. it held the end of the valve really tight.. so I just spun it from the back side and applied pressure from the front. :)
