Yeah I'm pretty sure a run of the mill basemap w/crome would be better than a hack...

I've ran a b7 setup for the last year, you really didnt need the headstuds, you wont be able to push the bottom end hard enough to see problems with you're stock headstuds, I wouldnt take the head off if you dont have to. Theres a link in my sig. to my build, it should be pretty complete.

I ran waterlines, they took an extra 10 mins to install big deal, If the factory had it watercooled, they must have done it for a reason, and I raped that thing 5x harder than it could have been in its original car/boost setting.

The reason people avoid water lines is heat in the cooling system. On many setups they will push the cooling system just a little too hard, causing overheating. If you only run oil cooled, then the turbo will still reject its heat into the oil and out the exhaust but you won't heat the coolant. Only downside is that you need to drive like a white man for a minute after beating on the car before you shut it off. Or let it idle for a minute after abuse instead of just shutting it off. Otherwise, the center section is hot as ---- and when the oil flow stops the oil cokes and life sucks ****.

why wouldn't you take off the head? installing the headstuds isn't going to hurt the engine
