ditch the gasket and just tighten it down with the fire ring.

you need the gasket son.
that part is just to seal the valve of the wastegate so it wont leak through the dump tube when the valve is closed.
the gasket is to seal it so it wont leak to the outside of the flange

thats what i thought.. my audi gate is like that. But the wastegate is machined so that it can only go in so far, no matter how hard you tighten. It bottoms out on a lip inside. Youll just strip the bolts if you tighten it anymore

its supposed to sit out like that. when you tighten it down, it will go into the housing. you can push it in by hand, but it takes a bit of force. put the gasket on the manifold flange, then tighten it all down... done

Nope , That Gasket will burn it in about a week.
Ditch the gasket and use cooper seal.

those shitty *** gaskets that they supply with the wastegates are a waste of money and time. go to www.summitracing .com and look up wastegate gaskets, it will come up with SCE gasket for turbonetics wastegate.
its a sce copper gasket, like all sce copper gaskets except for 35/38mm wastegate. $5 each they were on back order, so I waited for 3 weeks but it was worth it, still looks untouched. 2 thumbs up sor sce gaskets
