Finished the build! *pic*
I figured I would add to the collection of builds on here.
D15B Vtec from a wrecked RHD civic that had 24xxx miles on it Custom manifold (not some cheap junk) AiResearch 42/48 2.5" downpipe to a 2.5" flex pipe to a 3" catco catalytic converter and then 3" all the way back to a 3" in/out muffler Drag bar and plate intercooler Greddy Type S Tial knock off wastegate set at 8.7 psi. Open dump 8) DSM 450cc's with Radio shack inline resistors Chipped P28 running Uberdata and it has a basemap somewhat specific for my build. Datalogging too. Function7 Oil line fittings Stealthmode/Tuner Toys oil lines 1 step colder plugs Ultra plug wires VDO Boost/Oil Pressure Gauges. Clutch Specialties 275hp pressure plate Exedy copper kevlar clutch disk Oh, and its all in a '93 civic hatch UPDATE: Things are working much smoother since I did a couple of little things here and there and installed an external wastegate. Here is a pic of the build! The injector wiring is now covered. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...5/DSC00018.jpg |
Re: Alright, almost done with the build....now what?
Sounds like you have it all covered.Maybe pick up a new fuel filter but other than that take lots of pictures and post them.Make sure you have a extra set of wheels or someone to fdrive you over to the parts store as Im sure you'll need to run and grab some odds and ends.Good luck.

Re: Alright, almost done with the build....now what?
Uh as for timing leave it alone, the basemap should be good enough for now.

Re: Alright, almost done with the build....now what?
defintely leave the timing for uber
|
Re: Alright, almost done with the build....now what?
I figured I would just leave the timing alone for uber to play with but I just wanted to make sure that I had the timing set in the right position (the red mark??) When I had my engine shipped, I got it with some damage done to the dizzy and when I checked the timing it was way off so I just set it to that little red mark in between the other 2 markings.

damn i could eat off that engine nice

Re: Finished the build! *pic*
The manifold is painted with Engine Enamel, some half decent product I found at a hardware store. When I was pulling the old engine out I scrubbed down the entire engine bay with a toothbrush and simple green...took a long time! I guess its just the turbo setup that I was considering the "build" but I plan to put some thicker rods and stiffer valve springs in sometime next year. On the spark plugs, I was originally using the stock plugs and had gapped them down to 28 but I was still getting a little bit of hesitation around 3500 rpm, so I put in some one step colder plugs and have not had any type of problem since. Thanks for the comments!
