hey guys first of all i'm still not done with the turboing process yet, but today i'll be finish and i'll update you guys. the project is on my DD 1991 civic hatch, swapped with an D16y7 motor. i have another crx motor with low compressiong and an d16y8 head, was gonna do an mini me v-tec turbo, but winter is coming sooner than we thought, so i'm waiting til next season for that motor. i had a friend who helped me do it...ahha not the best welder, but hey it's home made, and it works right? isn't this site all about it??

will here's my setup specs...
-t3 turbo off sabb
-custom welded t3/t4 flange
-mostly other ebay crap
-orielly's exhaust muffler 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 inch pipings
for intercooler.
-hks turbo timer,
-black old skool model hks electronic boost controller
-ebay knock-off greddy style BOV.
-ebay internal wastegate setup kit.
-forgetting other things...

ahah here's for the pictures. this was 7 hours into working with it.;)
i've should've started taking pictures from the start but had my work.

joexiong 10-08-2009 05:02 PM

sorry guys i haven't been updating this...it's running tho!! HEHEHE....just kinda bogs at high rpm, cause i don't have injectors, and it dies in high rpm...i'm missing the missing link for my manifold...but as you can see, ef's don't have map senors on the manifold. instead my buddy had to ghetto it with an fish vavle??? ahha when he told me that i didn't believed it, but it works. ahha now i just gotta get about 2 more of them fish vavles!! HEHE

http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...9e9c6dcba8.jpg

yes, my BOV does sit far from the intake...it's hard to hear the BOV releasing pressure, but w/e. we didn't wanna weld the stainless steel piping...that's some bitch ass work to do and cut!!

BUMP

turbof22a 10-09-2009 02:39 AM

your gonna blow that thing up if you keep boosting it with out atleast an fmu. but at that point just chip the ecu for 50 dollars and get a set of dsm 450s. also you have to lean the eg radiator to get it to fit right. whats even better are the 95 dodge neon manual transmission radiators they fit better but you need to buy a pipe with a cap for it to work

MoFasterthenUr's 10-09-2009 02:45 AM

ebay turbo?

t4lude98 10-09-2009 09:07 PM

how much did you spend on the exhaust charge pipping im thinking of doing the same thing

the only ebay ---- left are 40% of the pipings, the return oil line, BOV and that's about it. it was an .67AR t3/t4 turbo but i traded it for my boys saab t3 turbo. but i'm glad i traded that ----!! yahh!!:)

themadhatter 10-11-2009 04:26 PM

looking pretty good man but like every one else said get soem sort of engine management amd injectors. Do a afc hack, fmu or get the bitch chipped but do somthing before all your work is wasted.

ahha..."like everyone says"....it's alrighty for now yo, i'm not in no big league or anything like that. it's a simple boost---->+, anyways my buddie's coupe is on 20lbs and he disagree with using that when i asked him about it. so it's like whatever. i'm planning on getting an Handcommand base map from an local chip burner here in mn. he's pretty good i heard.

joexiong 10-11-2009 08:49 PM

if anyone wanna buy it. make me an offer...ughh i want an eg hatchy now...nothing under $2500 tho. unless trades for eg hatch.

turbof22a 10-12-2009 04:40 AM

whats a hand command basemap?

B16Drag 10-16-2009 12:30 AM

Good job on the HMT. Now to the real point of my post.

I can careless if this is your DD and you are just messing around or if you planning to big and make a full drag car at some point later...

Some pointers you might want to consider before you blow that thing up or kill your turbo, and then you'll be making a thread "EF'en eh, what happen to my HMT turbo setup!?!"

1. Drill a bigger hole for your blow off valve on that stupid crush bent intake arm to optimize the actual function of your blow off valve and decrease compressor surge.
2. Get some kind of freaken engine management, even if its an FMU its definitely better than fish air valves--preferably a chipped ecu for $50-90 and a decent basemap!
3. Get bigger injectors, DSM 450cc's are cheap enough for you
4. Brace the turbo manifold before it cracks on you.

Its your car, do whatever the hell you want, but just remember there are many reasons why your car drives like shiet and why someone will still rape you with their stock motor!

silver1 10-17-2009 06:56 AM

I agree with b16drag you will be collacting parts of your engine very soon unless you do something a bout fuel managment . (mark my word you'll be sorry).

honda-chaser 10-17-2009 12:01 PM

turbof22a 12-25-2009 04:52 PM

well judging by the pictures it looks like half the size of the original so i would say half size radiator

junior7389 12-26-2009 09:03 PM
