1) i wish i knew wtf you were talking about with the end of that paragraph, but dont explain it to me.

fine.

2) Noob bashing is what hmt is all about. If they stay around after the bashing, then they are worthy enough to be here and be part of the community. You trying to "save the noobs from bashing" is like having the heard of buffalo drag the injured one behind them. It only weakens the herd. You have no right to change how we do things with other people. You just dont. This site has been around for a while your not going to change anything, youll probably just come and go.

funny, i thought turbos and home made manifolds etc was what hmt was all about. i'm not trying to save any noobs, they annoy me too in cases. i got into that thread because there was value to be had there. now its locked, and only a fraction of the potential it had was reached. i have every right to state my opinion so long as this remains a public forum. my opinion is that there are better ways to tell a stupid noob to ---- off than the approach that some of you use. as for osslo and bigd, they are quite happy attacking non noobs rides aswell, which is particularly uncool. the same thing goes on on other sites, its never cool. keep the personal stuff in pms if you feel the need.

3) The dude with the tt honda is trying to do something different. But he has been working for months and getting nowhere. thats where we get our nerve to bash him. Hes doing it incorrectly. Through our bashing he will learn to do other things right. He will. Or he'll leave and the herd will be stronger. Trust me it works.

hes doing it incorrectly? are you the judge of that? what is his purpose? what business of yours is it to state that in that way? none. the guy wants to do it that way, he posted pics, suggest improvements as some did, or leave your one comment saying that it could have been done quicker with a single. dont repeatedly post saying that its wrong its wrong its wrong... hes having fun welding and creating and making a custom toy. good on him for daring to not do the same log POS mani that everyone else did.

4) the people in the thread aren't attacking the cavalier, they are attacking the dude who attacked the cavalier. That cavy has more ingenuity than most other projects combined, so the dude saying his stock cobalt which he BOUGHT and didn't BUILD is ludicrous.

i screwed up. sorry.

5)We all save up too, and we dont have freinds do our ---- for us.

some of you do. not you maybe, but some. my friend is in an fsae team, and senior, i was lucky enough to use the mill there to mod my rail for the rx7 injectors, and the lathe to turn up my vband outlet from an audi AC pulley, and the flywheel down to fit the smaller ring gear, and the siera cvh pulley and 36-1 to fit the mazda pulley on the lathe there. but, i did it myself. no one did anything much on the car except some hurried last minute wiring and general helping hands. its fine really when others do give a hand. i would rather diy it than get a pro to do it better, there are lots of examples of that on my ute. the riveted intercooler plumbing is the only one that springs to mind right now, but there are heaps more.

6) stop trying to bash other people because they are being mean to you. EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE on this site has gone through what you went through. they are all better for it. You are the only one to react the way you did. Everyone will calm down when you dont follow them into threads and attack them. no reason to act superior. We have seen your work. It is BOMB work. It's very good, we all know this. this gives you no right to go into threads and bitch at people for acting immature, such as when that kid asked the question about what engine he had. Dont attack all of us when we are bashing someone who asked a question thats so simple its ridiculous. He doesn't need our help for that. Because if he cant figure that out, he shouldn't be on HMT. because hes talking about BUYING a kit for his car. we're not going to help him shop for a kit. we just aren't

if i am the only one to react as such, am i the only one to stick up for myself? and not bend over for the established users? i've been through this before too. stick up for yourself and dont bend over and you gain more respect from those who matter even if you step on a few toes along the way. the toes shouldnt have been on the tram tracks...

as for dumb questions, try a deatly silence, and then when he posts three days later saying "any takers" one person lets him know what he did wrong... he will learn from the silence far more. by attacking mindlessly you put them on the defensive, obliterating any chance of any sense coming from it. a little psychology wouldnt go astray.

thanks for taking the time to say things in a readable sensible way. respect regained.

fred.
