well, it's $53 for enough to do a SB Chevy. so i should be able to do 2 D16 (or close to it). well, like you said T.O.O. says the main thrust point is about 2 inches down, soooooooo, if you where to fill with salt up to 3 inches below the deck, and poor in a 2 inch layer, you should have good protection. just take a drill and drill holes around the guard and you shouldn't really see much cooling effect, since the top 2 inches would still be full of water. hhhmmm....

Yup, I say go for it, take some pics when you do it.

and when you do it theirs a nice 19mm bolt off the front of the block to drain all the salt out of, just flush that ---- out good.

im gonna be running 10-14 psi street and 20 maybe 22 strip i ve got eagle rods and je pistons. i guess im gonna go try to fill the block from 3 inches below the top to 1 inch from the top and see what happens
now i should have to worry bout that epoxy stuff falling down and messing up the pump and rad. right

Basically fill the bottom of the sleeve with about 3-4 inchs of SALT. (level it out)

Then pour your epoxy (block fill ----) the epoxy wont go all the way to the bottom of the coolant jacket, let it dry, drill the holes, and drain the out.. get it?
