Default F22B1 Turbo Plans - T3 60 trim

Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys that have done similar setups.

I basically plan to take an internally stock motor and damn near double it's power output for less than $700 total.

Goal is to hit around 250-275whp and at least 190+tq on 12 PSI of boost.

Most of this stuff I have already or have made. The rest will be picked up at junkyards or wait for good ebay prices.

Internally bone stock F22B1 (all new seals & gaskets)

Mild port work on intake manifold and intake ports

Garrett T3 .60trim from a 86 turbo T-bird (freshly rebuilt)

External 35mm adj. Wastegate

Boost controller

Custom downpipe, wastegate pipe & collector

HKS SSQV adj. BOV

Custom turbo header

Header wrap on turbo header, wategate pipe, downpie, and collector

Chipped & tuned P28

GM 2 bar MAP

eBay special catch can kit

Custom turbo oil and coolant lines

Custom 2.5" charge pipes/intercooler piping

Large Intercooler

550cc Injectors

MSD 6AL

MSD HVC coil

MSD Cap & Wires

Megan racing adj. cam gear

eBay special adj. FPR

Turbo timer

Of course one step colder spark plugs

Here's the compressor map:

so at 12PSI (1.81 press. ratio)

with

CMf (12psi, 3000 RPM) = 12.15 lb/min
CMf (12psi, 6000 RPM) = 24.29 lb/min

Boost would start to kick in around 2700-3k and would continue to rise to 74% eff. up till about 5.7k and even then would at least stay above 65% eff. all the way up to redline.

I know I could get a T3/T4 hybrid and make more power but like I said, I'm going cheap, cheap, cheap and I already had the T3 .60 laying around and it matches my needs perfectly.

I can supply the math I did to come up with this setup in case anyone is wondering. There's no guess work being put into it. I plan on boosting a stock motor 12PSI so I didn't want to take any chances. Let me know if you guys have any similar setups or suggestions. Plan on doing the turbo install within the next few weeks or month or so......whenever I finnish getting everything.

Dude...no prob.... Im makin 260 HP 270 tq on a t3/04e 57 trim stage 3 garret at 10 psi. BONE STOCK f22b1. Custom built kit by me, Mikedope, and mani from Mike at LSD motorsports.Tuned on Crome Pro.

Ran 13.89 (with a 2.3 60 ') @ 102 MPH in my fullyloaded 94 accord ex...AC, PS, CC, subs, spare and my big 250 pound *** in the fuckr too.

Gonna put arp head studs in her this weekend (im having a very minor head lift issue under extended periods of boost), new oem head gasket+copper spray, install 3bar Map, redo crunched downpipe (ground clearance owns me) and cart her down to INTEC for a re tune at 13 psi...lookin for 280 WHP and 13.50s

motor seems to love it too... 175 175 175 175 compression after 3 months of continualll beating on it.

I didnt know ---- bout these motors till around 3-4 months ago. Im happy as all hell. Car pulls like a train, be interesting to have it in a hatch...... LOL

GOOD LUCK, good to se another boosted F

Nice. Decent times too, but it might go a tenth lower or so with better 60' because of a mad top is what helps. Still cool. Any Vids? How do you manage more torque than whp on a 4 banger? I actually mildly looked into an F22 because they are singles 2.2L and cheap. LOL.

Thread starter dude: Keep us posted. I never knew F22s to make THAT much whp. Go for it and keep us informed.

f22s tend to make more TQ than WHP (the f22b1, which i have even does it stock)...I dont KNOW why but my guess is the rod/stroke/bore combo. I know there is more to it, but not sure what else contributes. One thing is for sure you can feel that tourqe in that big *** accord. im sure i could drop a tenth or two by takin out the subs/ spare and all the ---- in my back seat, but i ran it like i drive it EVERY DAY.... my avitar is actually my setup..

Im probably gonna invest in sdome drag radials though.....shiot i could cut out 2 tenths by just gettin out of the hole better...Overall though, im really happy. Hope to have it done and retuned by BOTI at PIR in a couple weeks!!!

Ill take some vids there.

I like this site, you guys are alright. Not as much flaming and bashing as other places...

I figured your avatar was it, but was yearning for more pictures. Looks like a big cluster. LOL. Umm, we honestly aren't that nice of a site. Take a look around and you'll see what I mean. You are a n00b, but VERY well informed with no stupid posts/threads, yet. Hmm, I'm going to look into the F22s just because I'm curious now. LOL. What is the normal threshold of a F22? And are different gen F22s any better or worse between the years? Thanks!!! I LOVE the D-Series, but F22 is almost UNHEARD of anymore. Skinnye rocks it, but D's and B's rule the performance/turbo world its seems.
