F22 Accord Turbo

I have decided to sell my boosted civic and go back to my Honda roots... Accord. I'm looking to get a 92-93 EX coupe or 94 -95 EX/LX coupe. I really dig the CB7 and you don't see many nice ones out there. Everyone and their brother has a damned turbo civic and I need a new identity. Here are my questions for those who have or had boosted Accords:

Have you ran into any issues with boosting on stock internals?
Any issues with clearances anywhere? AC- PS- or any jazz like that
Fuel delivery? Larger fuel pumps?
What turbo? What manni?

I was thinking I would rock some DSM 450's and a chipped P28 for tuning. Not too sure if I would need up to upgrade the stock fuel pump. I was looking at using a 14b I have laying around or slapping on a 16g. Only looking to run 7- 10psi everyday. I just want a good running Accord for daily driving fun. Anyone? Thanks.
BTW: Did do some searching and not a whole lot about Accords out there without sifting through a ton of crap.

Since your car are OBD1, theres no major change between this car and your old, just go with the chipped ecu, your 450s and some tune for your setup.

ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR SETUP

YOU SHOULD GET A WALBRO

14B 16G AND A 1G ECLIPSE MANIFOLD

Thanks turbof22a. I am leaning more towards a 92- 93 Accord EX with an F22a6. It's OBD1, has good power, and I can use a chipped p06 for tuning. I already have a 14b and 450's so I suppose they will work. I have seen that DSM manifolds will work on accords with slight mods. From what I can tell, it is the outer lower holes that don't line up. Are there other holes to drill, how many? Are the 1g DSM mani's different than the 2g? I know 2g runs T25, but I thought manifold mount up was the same.

manifold mount up is the same. just the turbo flange is different.

Okay, so if I use a 14b, I need a 1g manifold. Thanks. turbof22, what are you using for tuning? Which ecu and do you have any pics of your set up.

Dude the turbo flanges are NO different between the 1G and 2G manifolds. I have a 91 4G63t engine and it has a 2G manifold on it and I run a 14b. ALL MITSU TURBOS HAVE THE SAME FLANGES (Except for the older ones ie: older than 89)! Whether it's an T25, T28, 11b, 13g, 14b, 16g, 18g, 19c or 20g all the inlet flanges are the same trust me. The ONLY difference is the size of the inlet holes.

the middle hole has to be opened up a little to for the mani to fit.I had a turbo cb7 before i got my ek if you got any questions pm me

I want it. I'm picking up a 93 Accord coupe in the morning. I'll post pics and now I have to start tearing down my D16Z6 set up to make my 94 ex civic stock again. I will have better luck selling it stock, but I will have a chipped P28 with cromePro mapped on it for sale, and HF mani, adapter plate, and low mile Garrett T25 eclipse turbo. Need to sell yo! Let me know if anyone wants parts. I'm PM you donnyboy.

donnyboy 08-07-2009 01:03 PM

I shipped out that manifold today. It costed 11 bucks. You gonna shoot me a price on that chipped p28 or what?

That sucks ass! I can find them around here from $500 to about a max of $2500. $1800 will get you a nice one. I really want a coupe and I have looked at 3 that were pieces of work. I spotted an original owner with all maint records, blue on blue color scheme, and just rolled 200k. New clutch, belts, etc. The standard BS... Dude wants like $1800, so I'll check it out. I will post pics of my old one... 93 sedan, pics so old, I gotta scan them in! LOL!!! CB7's are sexy as hell.

I hear ya on that one. I'm tired of paint jobs... color changes... long nights in the garage with a respirator... getting too old. The next paint job I will drop the bucks for and save myself the time and sore knees. I tell ya, after you hit 30... you hurt everyday! LOL. My 93 Accord was phantom gray metallic with blue pearl in it. My buddy and I painted it twice!! The first time he DUMPED the blue pearl in the clearcoat and it looked fugly! He sprayed it and it sucked! We spent the whole next day sanding it all back down. Re-based it with phantom gray, then just a teaspoon of pearl... that did the trick. 6 months down the road we got bored one day and re-cleared it again! Cut and buffed it, and it looked hot man. Loved that car.
