Has anyone done this before seems like it should work but I dont have a flange in hand to see if it would actually work.

 

yes i have a delta gate flange welded straight to my HF manifold just weld it where the o2 sensor bung is and of coarse open up the hole works fine for me for a couple months

 

If you have a turbo that originally uses a internal wastegate. You can make a flange/elbow that uses the original hole.

 

no just weld the flapper closed

 

why wouldnt you just grind or some other way remove the flapper all together for better flow? welding it closed will just create more blockage...

 

ill get pics and show you weld the flapper door completelty closed lay a nice fatty weld on it the get a debure bit and the stock o2 fitting on the hf manifold to the size of your pipe and weld it to the cast trust me you can you just gotta know how to weld and that its your externally gated let me know if you got anymore ?'s

Mine is done like Leed's car except I used the flange hole for the internal wastegate. All you do is Weld the wastegate flapper OPEN and then make some piping from the hole in the exhaust flange to where you want to put the wastegate.
