here u go taylor, i uploaded the dyno chart u asked me to of the hp gains from that manifold- pretty impressive if i do say so myself... you're definitely gonna have to make one for me!

HEY??? THese are plumbery fittings! Yes, the fittings CERTAINLY were threaded but he machined the threads off.
The biggest prolem is that this type of plumbery fitting is high in chrome content, which is precipitating at the boundaries of the heat affected zone of welding, creating a weak spot that you can consider as a warranty of failure under thermo cycles and vibration.
Some vanadium in the base metal AND the weld metal will help reduce the Cr segregation but something tells me that it is not the case here. ;D

The sad thing is that at the plumbery shop where these fittings were bought, some much more appropriate ones were certainly available. To make a good manifold, you need LOW carbide steel that is meant to be welded. I have a OLD picture of one that I made using some plumbery fittings. It's 5 years old and it's still in use, producing over 300WHP. May look getho but makes the job:

No youre wrong, I still am till the Ont HMT meet, then i'm gonna buy some Shed10 and some flanges of Aaron and get a ramhorn welded up.
