expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
Check out this amazingly crafted equal length tuned racing turbo manifold.
http://www.smartgroups.com/picvault/...Manifold_1.jpg http://www.smartgroups.com/picvault/...Manifold_2.jpg I had a local performance shop fabricate it up for about 250 bucks, I thought it was kinda steep but for the 42 hp gain (dyno proven) it was worth it. What do you guys think? |
Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold

I will make one for you. $300 shipped. |
Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
I will make you one for 50 bucks, this was obviously a joke, come on, (yeah Kuuumar, bust your ass!)
|
Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
The sad thing is that it could probably push 160whp no problem. ---- I'll test it if you send it to me.
|
Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
hmmm, i think those patented anti revision chambers really would keep any exhuast from contaminating your intake charge and make 10,000 horsepower on any d series, with the addition of a few apc stickers ;D

Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
the funniest thing is that it looks soldered together not welded :-X
|
Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
;D great manifold

Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
Damn I'd rock that thing! If it hold a turbo onto my car and works thats cool with me. As Malcolm X once said "By any means necessary!"

Re: expensive custom made racing turbo manifold
HEY??? THese are plumbery fittings! Yes, the fittings CERTAINLY were threaded but he machined the threads off.
The biggest prolem is that this type of plumbery fitting is high in chrome content, which is precipitating at the boundaries of the heat affected zone of welding, creating a weak spot that you can consider as a warranty of failure under thermo cycles and vibration. Some vanadium in the base metal AND the weld metal will help reduce the Cr segregation but something tells me that it is not the case here. ;D The sad thing is that at the plumbery shop where these fittings were bought, some much more appropriate ones were certainly available. To make a good manifold, you need LOW carbide steel that is meant to be welded. I have a OLD picture of one that I made using some plumbery fittings. It's 5 years old and it's still in use, producing over 300WHP. May look getho but makes the job: http://www.geocities.com/blaast97sh/manifoldtake2a.jpg |
