To test an exhaust leak, get a white cloth of some sort, hold it right near what you expect to be leaking (no on, or it'll burn/dirt and ---- will wipe off on the cloth.) then have someone rev that bitch. If you get any black ---- on the cloth after a few seconds, you found your leak.

take a piece of hose and hold one end up to your ear and the other next to where you think you might have a leak or even just move it around. You will ear where you have any leaks.

Or just put that hose in your tailpipe and route it into the passenger compartment of the car while running - with all the windows up.

I had an exhuast leak right at the exhaust manifold to block. I could hear it, smell it, and feel it in performance. I got it fixed and the psi level did not increase, although I thought that it would have, but it performs much better, it spools faster and holds stronger.

Yeah Thanks

I'm going to try the hose to the tailpipe to the car solution.

The low boost problem can be fixed with a carb spring, or an MBC, the bigger problem is the lag, boosts starts to build at 4500 rpms or so, and its a tiny IHI RHb5, so that leak, if it is exhaust, which I'm pretty sure it is, might be way it takes so long to spool.

Thanks for all of your suggestions

Yesterday after work I decided to check tha leak before it rained, it's raining every the nuts that hold the turbo to the adapter plate are loose to the finger. How did that happen, I don't know, but it is, problem is I can't get a wrench or anything in there, so I'm going to have to unbolt a bunch of crap to get there. It probably will get done Saturday, before it rains.

Well after I took everything out, turbo, manifold, charge pipes, oil lines, downpipe to thighten the screws, which I did, then put everything back together, I still have a leak.

I can see the gases coming from under the adapter plate, between turbo and plate. I did put some silicone gasket material to make sure I sealed anything that migh have been leaking. No luck

Now I either have a crack on the manifold, or on the turbo. That's all I can think of. Car still only spools 4 psi, 5 if I'm lucky.
