Exhaust cutouts
Sometime in the near future I'm going to get another crx. When I turbo it I still want it to remain somewhat sleeperish. I want to keep the stock exhaust, and then use a 3" downpipe and a manual cutout. What's your opinon of how that'll work? How much power will I lose when the cutout is closed? Anything else to worry about?

Re: Exhaust cutouts
it's amazing how many times this question has been posted..the only problem i see is you need to tune for running with the cutout open..and....thats about it....check out summit racing for the manual ones

Re: Exhaust cutouts
Or, depending on what type and how your planning to open the cutout, you could have it open at a certain RPM or throttle position, and tune it that way.

Re: Exhaust cutouts
Manual Cut Out = teh suck.... Electronic = teh w1n~!
I have a manual cut out right now on my NA rex, it sucks, I hate having to try get it to seal again. The electronic is the best way to go, easy open/close with just the flip of a switch. DMH offers a 4 year warrnety. You cant go wrong there..... Good luck. |
Re: Exhaust cutouts
atpturbo.com makes a pretty bad ass one... has an actuator on it...so when it sees boost it opens up completely
