Default Exhaust cut out ?'s

Hey wondering how safe and effective this will be when it's used on a stock exhaust. I want to put it before the cat.

THere's a group buy going on if anyone's interested for an electronic cut out for 95+shipping.

Was thinking about doing it cuz i didn't want to pay for a performance muffler w/ custom piping. Figured this would be a much cheaper alternative.

uuuh, are you planning on installing this before the cat on an N/A engine? if it's N/A, your going to loose power doe to no backpressure... I wouldn't waste my money

hah that will be funny, i dont know if it would pass inspection. it would be all quite one minuite and then sound like a loud *** john deer the next, have you guys ever driven your car wo/exhaust? its loud as ---- (you cant hear the radio), sounds like crap and all the exhaust fumes come in your window (mmm carbon monoxide). pretty fun when you pull up next to someone and rev though.

i know ppl with open headers on cars that have chipped valves from cold air coming back up the exhaust and cooling the valve off quickly causing it to crack.

if your doin it on a turbo car thats no problem tho.

When I was working on my downpipe I left it off for one week driving around in town, etc... first it was fun because the turbo sounded just wicked, but I got real tired of the exhaust noise and getting looks from freaking everbody on the road. I actually have a cut-out now located on the back of my exhaust before the muffler... I have a race cat, so no big deal. It's a cheap cut-out and I want to upgrade my exhaust to 2.5" anyway..

i got an ecutout on the way. I'm going to chop my down pipe put an ectout on it and maybe a muffler comming off it. I dont want a loud car with I use my cutout. I just dont want replace my exhaust system. Money is real tight right now.

4 cyc sound like complete *** straight pipes. v8s sounds like dragsters... even a mild 305 will sound like a dragster with the exhaust off. i ran my chevelle with the 396 open headers. and boy did that thing sound like it was gunna go here to way over there in about 5 seconds. it would shake your heart literally. like make it hard to breath standing next to the engine.
