Anyone running and exhaust cut out? whats ur set up if you do?

I'm still not sure what to do yet for exhaust, cuz i will be taking this thing to the track every once in a while. I don't to be super-loud on streets or i would just run some straight pipe back

 

I've got one bt haven't tested it yet. SOunds loud so I keep it shut

 

I don't like them, in my experience you totally need to remap speed density systems when you change the exhaust back pressure.

 

dont they all function the same at WOT? that cutout should help you boost faster.. just keep it closed when your not racing

 

I've read reviews where they don't close all the way, or the valve just gives out. The only one i've heard good things about it the q-tec? (http://onefabrication.com/downpipe.html) I don't know how accurate the good review was though, the guy who owns onefab was the one who gave it

I'm used to welding up a flange, then using a plate over it tightened down with a 2-3 wing nuts.. the v8 way.

 

how you gonna be undoing wing nuts while you're driving?

 

By reaching through the hole in the floorboard

 

naw, what I do to achieve a real open exaust setup is I just run up on a curb right before I know I'm going to waste someone at the stoplight.. works like a charm

 

yea i was talking about the old v8 way i'm making my own exhaust anyway so i might rig somethin up and tell ya how it goes

i would just crawl under the car and unbolt the flange when i'm at the track
