engine knock? how do you know?

Default engine knock? how do you know?

I don't have a knock sensor and besides listening to the enigine is there any other way i can tell its detonating? can i add a knock sensor to my D16 block since i have an SAFC 2 that can read knock signals?

You might be able to hear it if it's loud enough. It'll sound like BBs in a can.

how about the slight detonation that i can't hear, would that wreck my engine? i know detonation is when the gas ignites before hand, what causes that exactly? timing, temp octane? thats all i could think of.

detonation is when you rev your shitbox to 9k on a t25 with no fuel managemt....

bolt a banjo fitting to your block, to that add some fuel pipe, trail it through the fire wall and then drill a hole into a set of ear defenders just big enough to fit the pipe in so it is snug drive your car normally and listen to the sound so you know how it should sound, then when you boost and you hear a knocking in your ear, that is the detonation
