Here is the power consumption chart for a very small Eaton blower (the M45 which is an OK size for a honda)
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbo/Tu...s/M45power.gif Let's say an electric motor push the same air with 1/2 the power, a 5hp motor would take us to about 1/2 the SC's flow range. What does a 5hp electric motor look like? Dayton Electric Motors scroll down to the bottom. There have been some highly geared one shot electric SC's, but the amount of batteries required to handle the demand made it not worth the limited power boost you would get, not to mention the recharge time. It is easy to flow huge CFM, just look at the 1200CFM radiator fans. Compressing that much air takes large amounts of energy that must come from the crankshaft or exhaust. So, no, they don't work. They sell because people are dumb. |
don't do it.. they don't work..

Do it so I can make fun...

Just get one of those tornado intake inserts, it sounds like it does the same thing, LOL
