Re:EGT probe location
i heard .75" from head but that is N/A. but would u still want it there even if its turbo since a turbo would soak out some of the actual temperature?

Re:EGT probe location
Really anywhere you place it (within reason ::)) will be fine. EGT guages always seem to give people different #'s depending on where they are mounted etc. They really aren't a good "tuning" tool unless you know what the normal EGT's are for the engine. But, an EGT guage could be a useful resource to keep an eye on in the future after the turbo install and once you've gotten a feel for what the "normal" EGT's are. Then if you see any sudden changes you'll know somethings up ;)

Re:EGT probe location
not really kyle, the turbo is going to make the reading so off, like if your lean for just a bit up top before you shift it would prob barely show after the turbo. i say its worth the $15 in drilling and tapping the mani to get good readings if you already spent $75+ on the gauge and sender.

Re:EGT probe location
you want the reading as soon as it comes out of the engine from the leanest cyl
the difference between a turbo or n/a prob location dosent matter, you want the most accurate reading possible |
