eGay Catch Can install HELP!!
I bought a catch can off ebay a few months back, I've been reading up on all the different ways to run the hoses...I just need someone who knows their ---- to give me some input here. It's my first turbo kit, i want to do it right.
Thats the 2-way layout that **** posted, plus the 2nd check valve that projekteg suggested. I will be using Purolator PV1029 PCV valves, apparently they are leak-proof. Does anyone see any problems with this? I understand that i'm circulating the gases/vapors back into the atmosphere through the exhaust, but thats the least of my worries. As long as theres vacuum at idle, and circulation under boost, thats all that really matters right?

Re: eGay Catch Can install HELP!!
you will have a leak problem in boost. from the intake manifold hose running to the T you will be pressurizing everything you setup is no good just run the stock pcv system and then vent your valve cover to your can and get your vaccum in boost from the inlet of the turbo. its simple and easy. i can draw something if you are confused. a catch can is so your bottom end can breath and evacuate pressure while in boost. your exhaust SHOULD do it but i dont see it being enough.
so just fix and look at where you have that T it doesnt look right to me.

Re: eGay Catch Can install HELP!!
Honda setups are kind of fucked due to both the pcv and vc breather "supposedly" receiving fresh air. Basically the VC breather sucks fresh air in and circulates through the block to be sucked out by the pcv and all excess oil is supposed to get trapped in the catch tank below it. Doesn't work that way though, as most Honda engines actually "blow" oil out the VC breather due to the pcv vacuum source not being enough to keep up with the blow-by.
Most people will say to just vent them to the ground, I've done this before and I can tell you that it doesn't work too well. The excess pressure that builds up under boost will show a rise in oil pressure, and then a sudden drop as pressure releases or blows past something. The block and VC both really need to be modded and upgraded to keep up with the blow-by, but it's a lot of extra work.
