Eagle/Vitara D16 is in..
Finally swapped out the d15 that ran a best of 12.1@112.
Got a z6 block from 91crxvtec here on hmt. Honed it myself, new rod and main bearings.
Eagle rods off ebay new for 200. Also got the pistons from the same guy here for 100 bucks.
So far im about 350 in for my build.
Motor is in and running good. 80 psi of oil press on cold start up, 20" of vacuum at 800 rpm.
Couldnt be more pleased.
Took it out for a ride on the same d15 map. Feels good, doesnt break tires as easily in 1st gear due to the lack of compression (8.5 vs 10:1). But in boost it feels great, nearly as quick as the d15.
Waiting on a pal to give me a free 2.5 bar motorola and set a safe boost cut @ 15 psi.
After my Evo fuel pump and egay front mount come in (ordered a couple days ago) im gonna set up a tune session with Chris, shoot for 300 whp and hope for 10.99 or at least low 11's.
On a side note I thought my ------- turbo was toast. When putting the new motor in I decided to buy a new brake line for my oil feed since my previous one was bent all to ----. Like a ------- *** I didnt check to make sure the turbo was getting oil, and I drove around for about 20 miles with NO OIL going to the turbo at all. Seems the BRAND NEW brake line was somehow clogged.
Got a braided line free from a friend, threw it in and the turbo SEEMS to be fine. No smoke, good spool, minimal shaft play. ---- ball bearing turbos. Would have been fried. HOLSET H1C FTMFW.
No pics as usual. Im too cheap and lazy to buy a camera.
