dumbass question about boost controllers

how do boost controllers work if you have a stock external wastegated turbo? or dont they? i was planning on running the stock wastegate psi anyways, just curious

same as an external wastegate

...you can go above the psi the wastegate is at...but not below it

Word, it just limits the amount of pressure/boost the WG receives.
