Dumb Question, but i'm stuck
i got a dodge 2.2 turbo for my EF, but the exhaust housing points out towards the radiator and i only got 1 inch of room. so building a downpipe off of that is impossible.
i guess my question is can i fit another t3 exhaust housing onto my turbine housing? do the bolts match up?
thanks. i'm really stumped and have tried a few places in town to get a custom made piece, but for 400 bucks i said forget it.
lets see if i can get soem pics up for you to see...

$400?! Christ for that price you could buy a brand new turbo Well, if your running an external wastegate setup which I ASSume you will be looking at that manifold, can't you just unbolt that piece thats pointing right at your radiator, and use a blockoff plate to weld a downpipe to?
If it doesn't unbolt and it's actually part of the housing (hard to see in the pics), depending on what size AR the housing is, you could bolt another one up to it. I don't suppose you have any more room by switching the turbo around so the compressor housing is on the pass. side?

Re:Dumb Question, but i'm stuck
just buy a piece of metal and drill some holes?
it probably wont look fancy but it would do the job.
Edit: we took off that piece, but i left my camera at work, i'll give you guys an update on what it looks like tomorrow.

Re:Dumb Question, but i'm stuck
That looks like the Turbo I chrysler cares (from like an '85 k car) with that wierdo 3 bolt triangle intake flage setup. So it's a T3. Am I right in assuming it has the 2 bolt style dp?
I think that T3 is pretty universal to other T3s, but you're looking at paying over a $120 for a new exhaust housing. Why don't you do it the HMT way and just chop that mother ****** off and weld a 16ga dp to it. Yes I know cast and mild steel don't mix, but Jeff & Beau did that ---- to an IHI on Airtonics sunfire (look in the tech writeup on the main page, I think that's the car they butchered up).
It's worth a shot since there is no way in hell your system is going to work with it being that close to the radiator. I don't think a half sized radiator would work out either. You might be able to relocate that bitch further frontwards if you feel like chopping some ---- up.
Let us know.

Re:Dumb Question, but i'm stuck
i had the same problem with mine. i was using the internal wastegate and it was built into the o2 sensor housing so i had to keep it. i just chopped the front of it off, welded some plate over the opening, cut a 2-inch hole in the bottom of it with a hole saw, stuck a 90* bend in the hole and welded it in. works good enough, but im sure it flows like ----

Re:Dumb Question, but i'm stuck
If its a 5 bolt chrysler T3 then some guy sells a flange on eBay. do a search for T3 flange or something...
EDIT:
Tried to look for it but cant find it. If I come across it I'll post it up. Also note that the Ford 5 bolt exhaust flange is SMALLER than the Chrysler 5 bolt exhaust flange--both are T3 though.
I have the Ford 5 bolt exhaust flange, which I wont be using it... If its the same dimensions let me know, its up for sale.
