Default DSM BOV Flutter

What would cause the BOV not to flutter?

More story: On my Prelude... the 1g DSM BOV would flutter at like 0/1psi. Car got wrecked. Took BOV off... fast forward 6 months, and used it for my b16a turbo setup. The BOV doesn't flutter at all and I can barely here it when I let off the throttle under boost. For a while I was hearing compressor surge but it seems to have gone away.

I moved my vacuum source for the BOV directly to the intake manifold... and still nothing. Any ideas?

it shouldnt flutter if you have it to a good vaccum source, such as the FPR or a vaccum manifold. The flutter you hear is usually compresor surge.

Why dont you hear it blow off?? Are you boosting? Do you have any boost leaks? BOv too lose?

pretty odd, yesterday I put my dsm blow off valve on my current setup and it sounds like its fluttering as well. I've used tons of these things on past setups and not once has it sounded like this.

I'm gonna crush the ****** and change my source.

If you DSM BOV is fluttering, that is compressor surge, you don't have it tee'd into the intake manifold right.

Diaphram style BOV's don't flutter, pull style like HKS SSQ, or TIAL's will.

Clean and oil the unit.
Chk for free movement with your finger.
Hook it up.
Hook up a gauge to yoru vacum source confirm your seeing a vacum.
Then hook up gauge. It should work. If no dump the gauge.
Experiment with diffirent vacum sources. Manifold acted up for me. From the Carb worked.
