dsm 450's on 98 civic question
getting ready to wire my injectors in and just read over the nice tech article Jeff wrote up
Now I was wodnering if my factory 98 civic plugs will only require that little keyway to be removed some friends of mine sem to think tha writeup applies only to 92-95 civics and that I am going to need some clips |
Re: dsm 450's on 98 civic question
i think for obd2 you need 10watt 10ohm resistors from radio shack. not sure if you need those along w/ a resistor box or obd1 clips, somone clarrify and help my man out.
your also obd2a so idk if thats any different from obd2b. you have a y7 i assume? stock intake manifold? if you use y7 intake your gonna need to modify it. i think the iacv needs to be converted. |
Re: dsm 450's on 98 civic question
I have a Y8 that Im about to swap and I just tried the plugs they dont nearly fit
hmmm RC injectors time |
Re: dsm 450's on 98 civic question
Try to get some obdo injector clips, and obd1's do work just gotta cut out the little peice in the middle. I'll have a little bit more of a detailed write up for OBD2 setup using obd1/dsm injectors next week.

Re: dsm 450's on 98 civic question
^ yea just go to the junkyard and cut some wires out of any civic, accord, crx, etc. that is older than 96 (88-95) if they are 92-95 just razor blade out the little plastic pieces. and it will fit fine.
and you will just need EITHER 4- 10 watt resistors inline from radio shack, OR a resistor box. no need to use both. matt |

Re: dsm 450's on 98 civic question
with some modifying my obd2 injector clips worked with my DSM's, but not perfect. i ended up getting th eobd1 clips and cutting the little piece off and calling it a day.
make it work. |
