DSM 450 ----> Y8 Manifold?

Ive read about how you have to dremmel out the seal ring in order for the injector to fit better but after doing so it seems to me the injector doesnt sit in far enough.

Do I have to enlarge the injector seat on the Intake Manifold, so the injector can sit in further?

Or will I be okay once i bolt in the fuel rail?

wtf no don't do that

i have same manifold and injector as you

just dremel the seals then swap the CUSHION rings with stock ones on the dsm and it'll fit.. doin't worry

the dsm 450 are a little bit longer from the seal shoulder to the tip of the pintile. that's why you need the taller green seal.

....you really don't "need" any of that. Just take out the old ones (injectors), vaseline the 450's a bit, and bolt the rail back on. Pretend you didn't notice they didn't really fit right, and just tighten down the rail to a 'comfortable' level.

...That's how I did it, and it's been great for over a year ;)

i dunno but for my d16y8.. my stock seals lined up perfectly to the bottom of seal to pinile of the 450cc... the only thing shorter was the top of the injector (o ring) to the fuel rail, so then i swapped the cushion rings off the stock injector

maybe your d16y7 is diff

Re:DSM 450 ----> Y8 Manifold?

no...did you compare the stock injectors to your dsm's. if you did you would see that the pintile end would sit lower than the stock injectors...that's why the green seal is better. it gets the pintile end at about the same depth in the rail. it may not matter though...if the black seals works then use it.

no seriously, it was same height on my 2000 injectors... the only height was the TOP part,, the fuel rail part.. the dsm injectors were SHORTER on the fuel rail so i had to swap the cushion seals to make up for the shortness

cool...new knowledge of the day...i can go to sleep now. my dsm's were just the opposite...at least you were looking at them closely...i still can't believe anyone would grind away at the metal.

The DSM injectors won't fit the Y8 intake manifold, but I'll buy it for $20 !! HEhe...
