well, some of you may be surprised to learn that i don't know everything, and i'm actually about to install my first turbo set up. how would i make a downpipe for this turbo, do i just weld it right up to the existing housing, or is there a flange for the three studs sticking out that i would have to get and weld it up to that?

 

i would make an adpter plate so u can sell the damn thing afterwards

 

what would you suggest? just some 1/4" steel cut to fit with holes drilled? that sounds like it would be pretty simple if that's what your meaning.

if i were doing it i would use a little square peice of metal, mark up the holes, and drill them out, mount it to the turbo and then open up the middle exhaust hole from there

 

yeah, that sounds good, it will prolly be easier to weld up to a flat piece of stell anyways, thanks.

 

...or you can get the gasket that belongs to that car for the downpipe and get a machinist make you a flange. I don't think it would cost much, and would be alot easier than welding on to the cast exhaust housing.

 

they make flanges for those t3's.


thats the flange on the pipe. see how the end of the pipe has been flared? thats what u have to do. peace!
