Down sizing my Turbo ...???

i been running my setup for awhile now.
I am considering buying a T3 .50/.48, and trying it out and see how well it runs.

from what i have gathered from reserarching, it should give be a quicker spool, and a more responsive car.

you might loose flow on the top end.

think about it.. when you're racing.. do you ever drop below 4000rpm ?

my .63/.60 spools late as hell, which i'm actually starting to like, i'm not even boosting driving around town and still get 32 mpg around town, but it kicks ass at the track.

Re:Down sizing my Turbo ...???

naw man.. the reason why you are getting 32mpg is cause you're leaning the ---- out of your maps and trying to burn that motor up

If you wanna send me that .63 exhaust housing in trade for a .48 I'm down :) It will spool up alot faster.

Re:Down sizing my Turbo ...???

i'm planning on keeping the turbo till i finish building the other block.

but for now i am gettin hold of a T3 52?/48 (i think), and i plan on trying that turbo out and see how it works.

projekteg 08-06-2004 09:31 AM

Re:Down sizing my Turbo ...???

a .52/.48 would be stupid, it would spool a little bit quicker, but have no where near the cfm's as your .63/.60, if you want a quicker spooling turbo, go with the .48/.60, and nothing smaller. besides, if you're building a block, you better keep that damn .63/.60.

I kind of like my .60/.63 too...

The slow spool doesn't help my 60' times much but it cuts down on wheel spin a little. ;D

.63/.60, the exhaust housing comes first, your saying you have a .63 compressor ;)

I guess I'm glad I got the T3 .48/.60 (hot/cold)

Spools up relatively quick and holds my 6-7psi till redline. Gonna up the boost as soon as projekteg lets me know how that MBC that he bought works...
