Default doubling up head gaskets....your opinion...or experiances

so my 3 cylinder honda is starting to annoy me, thinkin i should fix it. so monday i will be tearing it apart, agian, to replace the piston. gonna have to buy another headgasket, or ---- it and not, but if i buy another one why the ---- dont i just slap it on top of the other one? that way it will lower my compression and maybe this wont happen again...for a while

the headgaskets are MLS (multi-layer steel) gaskets, not composite type. now with composite gaskets i can see why i shouldnt, but with MLS they are already muliti-layer (duh) so why the ---- shouldnt i do it?

you thoughts, or experiance?

with two headgaskets or blow headgasket?

want to lower the compression so i can run more boost, safely...its my only car that drives at the moment (and doesnt do that every well)... figure that it would lower my compression from ~9.5:1 to ~8.9:1....

also planning on doing this to my VW GTI. infact thats what they tell people to do to make 200hp+ to the wheels...

I wouldn’t stack them, a friend tried on a LS and it didn’t work . Why not just buy a Cometic Head gasket? Dose you motor burn oil? that would help it blow up all the time .

9.1 is a fine compression if you tune it.

If you want thickness then go with the cometic. I wouldn't suggest stacking them .

who said anythign about 9:1?

isnt the cometic gasket the copper one? i always hear problems about them leaking and ----.

im sure it burns oil with a 90psi of compression on #1...the turbo also leaks oil out the exhaust side...

I dont think cometic gaskets are copper? they look just like OEM Honda ones .

Stacking multi layer steel head gaskets is frequently done with Peugeot engines. Works like a charm. I'm running a 2.0 16v engine with two headgaskets and a homemade spacer plate, no problems at all. Also have a 1.6 16v engine with two headgasktes (no spacer plate), haven't completed that setup yet, but i'm sure it will work fine.

Just go for it.. I mean.. DO it... DO it
