Do's and Dont's for turboing a civic?

So I got into this whole import tunning about 2 years ago... I wanted to get into some serious boosting, so I turned to turbos. But now more and more learning I do about this stuff it makes it harder and harder to understand what and what not to do. so turned to you guys at HMT to see if you had some ideas on what to do and what to make sure on so that my engine doesn't blow up... like Jeff's first project. What I have in my hands right now is a 94 civic dx, stock engine, garrett t3 turbo, and a POS intercooler that I think I may have to ebay it b/c it's way to big for the front bumper. Could you guys give me sume sites or names of books that show the interlas and externals of turbo building? Thanx, Ed ;D And last, but not least, what problems did you guys encounter when droping a turbo into a d-series engine?

the biggest problem ANY turbo engine sees is detonation because of a too lean mixture. Good fuel mngmt is a must.

But I also heard that I have to watch out for my compressions b/c if I put to much boost into that puppy and don't change my compression ratio the car could detonate also. By the way thanx for that book. Have you heard anything good about the High Performance Honda Builder's Handbook?

Looks like either a civic with a bodykit, or a skyline

high comp doest make deternation, it just make's it harder to tune with less margin for error.most race honda's still keep stock or higher comp ,even when running 20+psi.But thats with good piston, rods etc.
"honda/acura performance ' is a pretty good book,with a how build a 10 sec civic section.

Yea that's a Civic with a body kit and the skiline front conversion kit. what's the easiest way about getting a good, but not expensive turbo... b/c I got a T3 turbo off of E-bay, but the turbo itself is in bad condition. Damn e-bayers
