Re: turbo pistons

i only found vitara's at 8:5.1 compression thats why to low

Re: turbo pistons

so shave you're head/deck and use a thinner HG. OR spend $400+ on some forged pistons. I wish I would have went with some forged pistons my first time around.

Re: turbo pistons

hit up ebay and look for d series pistons. as long as your block isnt bored or changed you can order a set of any d series and be good to go.

LOL try more like 6.64 :-X. The true dome is -15'cc. Best thing to do on the cheap would be to get vitaras, and fjt new longer rods to bring up comp/ shave head.

Re: turbo pistons

To lower the compression on the cheap, you could get some 86-87 D16a1 or D16A6 pistons.

dont be mad cause someone sold you some nippon pistons!!!!! trying to come up to get some ycp's

Re: turbo pistons

8.5:1 is too low dont you get it, i dont want compression to be that low

Re: turbo pistons

order the longer rods from fjt.... thats what i did. im still waiting for them....I BEAMS FTW

there have been so many people that have made 300-400hp at the wheels on vitaras/eagles.. search around noob. if your so ---- about compression, go get some forged pistons!!!!!!!!

whiterice 02-28-2008 03:30 PM

Re: turbo pistons

fjt also sells the PG6 pistons.

Re: turbo pistons

I don't know if they are the same as the ODBO1, but I have a set of brand new Black-top Zc pistons (nippon) that are one sive overbore with rings that I will sell you for $85. I also have the stock browntop ZC pistons and rods (the ones that the books say are the strongest D rods) that I would sell with new rings for $125 or best offer. Let me know. I might even have a set of clevite rod bearings I would throw in for another $12.00. Prices are not shipped, but I think I can get them into a USPS standard rate box and get them to you for less than $15.00. I make no promises thou. I have two complete zc motors (one black, one brown) if you need any parts. Thank you

D16 turbo pistons

Aight listen to thiis someone on d-series.org told me that if i put 8.5:1 vitara's in my obd1 dohc zc that my compression wouldnt even be near 8.5:1 it would be way lower

onlyflash944 02-29-2008 12:34 PM

Re: D16 turbo pistons

cool

Ogubudiah 02-29-2008 12:35 PM

Re: D16 turbo pistons

You don't need to reference d-series.org.

I would go with better pistons before lowering the cr (that low) to accomodate more boost.

SpoolinZc 02-29-2008 12:44 PM

Re: D16 turbo pistons

what would be a better piston to go with besides vitara's

whiterice 02-29-2008 01:13 PM

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

I wouldn't wait for the longer rod option.
What's your budget and what's your goal?

You options have been answered already

i wanna make between 300-350 Hp

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

get a set of weisco 9:1's or some endyn roller waves.. and compression in a dohc zc will be 7.1:1..

SpoolinZc 02-29-2008 02:35 PM

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

i dont want my compression to be that low 7.1 come on are you serious

The compression wont even be 7:5:1 it will be 6:6:1. Most people think the vitaras have hight compression then they do. They are super low in just about every d-series motor you put it in, but there ever lower in the DOHC zc. How much money you have to spend it what you will go with!!! DO NOT use the vitaras with a stock rod length rod in the DOHC; Only use it with the NEW FJT longer rod!!!

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

I just went through this

My pistons are custome made for me by JE
good price $540 with rings and pins and all
Vitaras worked out to be in the low 7:1 range and where no good.
Z6 Hogh compresion pistons (10.3:1)or so worked out to be 9.3:1 or somthing like that in our engines

The only way to go is call JE and have a special set made. Je was the cheapest, everyone else wanted 750-1100 for the set.

SpoolinZc 03-01-2008 02:18 AM

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

so are the endyn roller waves have accurate compression for the dohc zc

Zeniceguycrx 03-01-2008 02:19 AM

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

Je will make them to your compression desire

i was lokin at the roller vaes and they dont come in a std. bore

nothing wrong with a little over bore to help with displacement and yes the compression ratio is correct fo the zc because they are made for the dohc zc cc chambers in the head..

robus 03-01-2008 02:50 AM

Re: DOHC ZC Turbo Pistons?

yes they only do 75.5

for std bore look for wiseco pistons

If i buy mt pistons from wiesco i have to fill out a order forum and im not doin all that shyt

then go buy off the shelf ------- d16 pistons and figure out what your compression ratio will be. you ask for help we give it you then you have negative ---- to say about everything and are ------- lazy, if you really wanted to build a motor you would do it and get it over with..

all i want is a std. bore pistons i dont wat to have to bore out my cylinde walls and ic ant find them with wiesco and i dont wanna have them custom made
