Does my turbo need a rebuild?

well, i finally got my z6 build in the car and ever since installed the new turbo (t3/t4) my oil feed flange on the turbo leak out oil. at first i thought it was my return but its fine (5/8 hose). so today i pulled the feed line and just squirted oil into the turbo and watched it drain. it drains really slow. My turbo never seems to spool and the only time it did was when vtec engaged for the first time (i think because of the loss of oil pressure for a second) any ideas?

You pulled the feed line, squirted oil in, and it gravity drained slowly? Thats prolly normal as the feed is going to be forcing oil in at XXpsi.. Fix the oil feed so it doesnt leak and see what happens... And see if you can still spin the turbo by hand. Hopefully its not screwed

you have a oil restrictor??? I have seen new turbos smoke on hondas without a 1/16" restrictor.

WHat kind of oil are you using? WHat brand of turbo is that?

lol, i'm not really confused at all.

edit: thats not nice, if its an adjustable one I would ditch it, by "turning it way down" you could be starving it for all you know. SET SCREW FTW!

I think I agree here. Remove the restrictor and put a set screw in the oil feed fitting then drill a 1/16" hole in the set screw. Insta-restrictor and you KNOW it's getting the correct amount of oil.

Shaft may be broke too. That's a sorry situation there. Did you even have a screen on it?
