The RFL from turboxs is loud. Definatly the loudest damn thing I have heard. Not much of a high pitch sound, more of air gushing out.
For example-If you have an air compressor, and disconnect the air hose "inlet". When all that air stored up in the hose comes out, that is basically what the rfl sounds like. Then again, im used to my H34 sounding like that at over 20 psi. Very attention getting.
One of the cars in our car club has the hks ssqv, its a cool tweet sounds i guess. Nothing like the type s(I preffer the greddy type s sound over the ssqv).
Every aftermarket BOV I have heard sounds way louder than the stock 1G bov.
I have the turbo xs type h34. I cut a slot on the side for the hell of it, and unscrewed the outlet "tube" and its pretty damn loud. I might get rid of it....unsure yet.

I don't think the BOV in the link is a turbo xs. It's an imitation. Hope it's still as loud though. That's the sound I want. I want people to think Armagedon has comenced when they hear my BOV.

Anyways, I'll check that link out later. I was just wondering what a good sounding 20+psi reliable BOV would be. I've heard either the SSQ or Type S on a fairly modified 2g before, wasn't really that bad.. but whoosh with a whip crack would be a more feasable solution.
Thanks for sticking around the board man, please give us as much input as you can. My brother has a 2g that I'm always doing ---- to so having a resident dsm man is nice.

ATP turbo is comming out with a line of BOVs. Should be pretty nice. They look kinda like if you combined a greddy type r with a turbo xs and an hks ssqv...wierd looking but I am wondering how they would perform http://www.atpturbo.com/

tials are quiet... great for sleeper but not very loud at all. Greddy is nice.
Are you referring to the small hole in the flange that you can only see when the bov is unmounted?
I switched back to my 1G dsm bov, covered the small hole on the bottom

Re:Does this BOV give one big swoosh or several?
My brother is complaining that his stock 2g bov doesn't give off a loud enough sound. He is running a generic K/N filter with stock T25. I think it would be better to stick to a BOV that is recirculating on his car since I know about the problems when you start venting. Any suggestions for a really loud one that will be heard thru the air filter cone?
Yeah I know of the ones that split it to vent and recirculate but those are pretty pricey and untested.. mostly I've seen them for WRXs.

as described in this link .http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html
Im sorry but the tials are not quite. They might be under 10 psi, but they're intended use is 15psi+ anything less and they will flutter and give you some nice surge. Here is the tial in action from the cockpit of john shepherds car .
for some reason i cant make it a link so just cut and paste.
