Dodge Neon

Re:Dodge Neon
i dont know much about them but it might be possible that the bolt patterns for the exhaust manifold is the same as an eclipse, that would make things almost too easy. go to the auto parts store, get an exhaust manifold gasket for a 90-99 eclipse gst/gsx, get another for a 98 neon, compare the two of them.

Re:Dodge Neon
your engine is the same as the 2nd gen eclipse NT engine (420A) but i dont think they can handle much boost, there was a guy that worked at altered atmosphere over here in maryland and said they could only handle 7PSI, i used to have a 1st gen NT eclipse with a 4G63 and i think those can hold a fair amount.

Re:Dodge Neon
ok i'm 90% done doing a hmt setup on my 96 sohc neon, and there are a lot of things that you need to know before starting this. i'd type out a lot but i'm at work right now, i'll try to put up a detailed post later- in the mean time try checking out neons.org and check out the forced induction board- a lot of good help to be found there.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with turbocharging these engines? I am looking to sort of piece together the parts I need to develope a good kit but I have very little knowledge in this department. All I know so far from what I have read is that Mitsubishi turbos work well since the Neon engine is actually a Mitsubishi engine. If any of you can share some knowledge I would greatly appreciate it and I look forward to hearing from you.
Anyway that is my specialty - I make manifolds for the Neon, Eclipse Avenger and so on...
You will need a rising rate Fpr like a Cartech/BEGI or Vortech SFMU - regular vortech FMU will not work. you will need a higher volume fuel pump or in-line booster pump. The neon Fuel system is returnless, so you need to to disable the intank regulator and run a return line back to the tank fron the rising rate requlator. Oil lines are easy and pretty standard runs from a Tee off of the oil pressure sending unit and return it to the oil pan.
Nothing from a 4g63(stock turbo motor) Eclipse fits a neon!
and this "Neon engine is actually a Mitsubishi engine" is not right it is a dodge motor. The turbo eclipse guys call the 420a Eclipse a Neon with an Eclipse body kit
these are not stock internals but....

http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=138625 - the same company makes Honda kits too - Len is the same Guy that used to race for Hahn Racecraft. you have probably seen the video where he spanks an 11.00 sec. Viper.
