Yes they did.It eventually evolved into the Plymouth Laser and then into the Eagle Talon.

the sr4-t and evo competitors, HA, not even close, maybe just for some dumb asses. about the only thing they have in common is the fact that they both come in yellow. i love when people say they have a "sr4-t", then i say "you mean you have a neon"

What mitsu called Mirage for the USDM, is what they called Lancer for the JDM. The dodge Lancer has never been or have anything to do with the Mitsu Lancer. Now dodge/eagle did make a copy of the Mirage just like the eclipse/talon deal, but they where never sports car in the USDM.
I don't really think the neon will become anything but a neon, they might bring some type of dodge performance car but think about it, why would Mitsubishi let them copy there best car, why would they need that competition. The SRT-4 is a nice car, my brother in law has one and on his first run at the track he ran a 13.8 completely stock, they have a lot of potential, but with that said, they are still neons, but for 19,000 is not a bad deal.
