i've got one and i'm retarding 1/3 degree per 1 pound of boost. no other retarding. i've got it as a safety measure incase i get bad gas or if something else happens. it wasn't too expensive and the only new part i purchased for my hmt setup. i think it comes out to almost 2.5 degrees at 8psi. if you retard 2 degrees on your dist you will probably be ok, but you will lose power in the lower end.

at 7psi your stock timing should be fine. you shouldnt need to adjust anything. lates.

stock d16y7 gets about 98whp. at 5.5-6psi i was getting 145whp and was still too rich killing some hp. i've since cranked it up to 8psi and am est appx 160-165. when i get a chance to get it back on the dyno will be cranking it up to 10psi. don't know if i want to daily drive on it at 10psi though, but i probably will.

yeah...i'm using a td04L off '02 wrx. when i made my adapter plate instead of it just being mounted parallel with the block/core support, it is rotated about 30-35 degrees so that the compressor inlet just clears the ac compressor. i just had to move my condensor fan to in front of the condensor.
