Unhappy Different size intercooler piping....

Hey there i just acquired an 88 honda crx and it seems to have a ihi vj11 with some pretty weird piping.......the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler are 1 1/4 inch.....and after the fmic its 2.5 throughout....oh and the 1 inch piping is steel i think...it ran okay but is it safe to keep it that way? and what effects does it have on lag and psi?

Welcome. Give them time, Saturdays can be slow. A lot of things to do in real life.

How much boost is going through it right now? It will cause you to boost up quicker with the smaller pipe because the turbo has less area to pressurize. So in other words less lag. If its working and not hurting anything then its probably fine, again depending on the boost your running. Personally i would switch it out so its 2.5 all the way.
