Default diesel turbos?

Anyone ever tried a turbo off a diesel engine? I have a pair off the GM 6.5 diesel engine, and it looks they are too big to spool correctly on my 350..
just curious before I rip it apart and start over!

well, that's the thing, they are on, and I haven't seen any boost yet. Waiting on weather to dry so I can test some more (got a little sideways at the top of 2nd gear)
They seem to spin freely, and show no signs of leakage, so I know they are not froze up..
It did seem like it pulled harder up around 5000 rpm, but I didn't see any indication of boost either on the boost gauge, or the fuel pressure gauge..

haha. uhm. what kinda wastegates do they have or are you using an external?

do they spin at idle?

also if you are using 2.. that might be way to big then.

u might wanna consider just 1. cause even most 6 L diesel's just spool 1 and they have alot of exhaust.

I have two, one per bank
using the stock wastegates, tried holding them shut with a spring and didn't change
they spin at idle, and take their time to wind down when you kill the engine.... they are about the same size as a T4

I fear they are too big, but I plan to do a little more testing when the roads dry, before I take it all apart and go back on Ebay!

use 1 man. turn the exhaust mani's upside down and get some 3" mandrel tubing made and mount the turbo right infront of water pump..

I would reccomend you only run 1. I mean a chevy 350 is only 5.7l, the diesel that 1 of those came off of is 6.5l. 1 sould be plenty good.

well, it is already setup for twins, and I hate to start completely over. I can trade for a pair of T3's, and just have to redo the exhaust flanges, and the turbo to intercooler pipe..
here's the current setup...I am using twin intercoolers from a Saab
