so here i am fix my exhaust leak, im running good, then in first i mat it to 6500 no detonation, second gear right around 6000 i hear slight pinging. im running ghettodyne base tune with 40 psi of fuel pressure and 450 dsms. am i leaning out up top?? im getting green leds on my a/f but up top they turn yellow, so i think im leaning out. any ideas, also this i swith a stock fuel pump,

it was 94 today and it was pinging, but i took it out tonight it was 75 and it still did it , so its not the heat.

get a damn fuel pump before you blow up. imo fuel pump should be one of the first things to get.

If you're still running the car with the CEL on... it's not smart.

you don't need a fuel pump with ghettodyne, but is a good idea to get one anyway for later tuning.

dude... did you get my OTHER chip yet? The one's I've sent you are modified to run richer up top just for that reason (to prevent detonation).. I've eliminated all my pinging by pulsing a little more from 4500rpm up to 7k.

i just put it in tonight, ill send your other one out monday, im not getting the cel. it runs strong and i appriciate it. i laced a camaro tonight. boner. well anyways thanks. but it is still running almost lean. second yellow light towards the red. i have port polish and a 3 angle valve job and a high lift cam and a jg 64mm throttle body with msd. im thinking my motor is flowing more air than yours, i need to get a chip burner to tune this ****** myself. also i bought a front mount intercooler...hehe also increasing my charge pipe size.

It doesnt ping any in 3rd? I thought 3rd is usually the gear with the most chance of detonation. At least thats what I've heard and thats what it is like in my car. Maybe a fuel pump would help you out a little. In your last post you said you got a new ic and that should do plenty but if not try the new pump (which you should get wether you need it or not right now) and get a fuel pressure regulator and turn the psi up just a little. hope that helped..

thats what i was going to say., up the Fuel press until u get a new chip. See if that temporarily fixes it.
